During the summer 2010, especially in August and September, MdM Sweden has done different sorts of advocacy work to stimulate the debate on access to health care for undocumented migrants. After the parliamentary elections in September 2010, they published a magazine concerning undocumented migrants' access to health care with focus on health care without discrimination and more specifically, on MdM clinic in Stockholm, the situation for undocumented migrants in Sweden, the enquiry launched by the government on access to health care for undocumented migrants and other issues concerning Mdm Sweden advocacy work. This magazine was disseminated among members of the Parliament, county councils, health administrations, etc.

Almedalsveckan - the political week in Gotland founded in 1968 - took place in July and Médecins du Monde Sweden was present. The objective was to do advocacy work for undocumented migrants access to health care by discussing with politicians, connect with other NGOs, spread information about how the situation is in different European countries today and hand out flyers to people (and voters in the upcoming elections this autumn). The question is triggering much sympathy for the undocumented migrants, especially among the persons who aren't aware about the restrictive Swedish law. Many of the politicians are looking forward to the national enquiry on the subject (published in springtime 2011) and it is clear that the law in some cases will ameliorate the situation. MdM made a lot of new contacts, participated in seminars and got much encouraging comments.
